Privacy policy

Last updated 15 October 2026

The Setting Agency is a service of Bolek Jewellery V.O.F., Jan Pietersz. Coenstraat 7, 2595 WP The Hague, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KVK 95976159. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and what you can do about it.

Who this policy covers

Data we hold about business contacts

We only collect business information: name, job title, business email address, company name, company website, city and country, and information the company has made public itself, such as the services it offers. We do not collect private or sensitive personal data.

We gather this from public sources such as company websites and professional directories, and from commercial business data providers.

Why we use it

We send short, relevant business emails about products and services used in the jewellery trade, follow up, and answer replies. Our legal basis under the GDPR is legitimate interest: business to business contact that a company in the trade can reasonably expect. Every email identifies the sender, includes our postal address and offers a simple way to opt out.

When we work for a client

When we run a campaign for a client, the client decides which businesses to contact and what to offer, and we process the data on the client's behalf under a written agreement. The client receives the contact details of businesses reached during the campaign. When we contact businesses about our own services, Bolek Jewellery V.O.F. is the controller.

Opting out

If you reply asking not to be contacted, or use the opt out in any email, we stop straight away and add your address to a suppression list. We keep that list only to make sure you are not contacted again, by us or on behalf of any client.

Clients and website visitors

If you book a call or email us, we use your name, email address, company and the details you share to reply, prepare proposals, deliver our services and send invoices. We keep invoices and related records for seven years, as Dutch tax law requires.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. Booking links are handled by our scheduling provider under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep data

Business contact data is kept for as long as it is relevant to a campaign and at most 24 months after the last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Suppression list entries are kept for as long as needed to honour the opt out.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the client a campaign is run for, and with service providers that help us operate, such as email sending, data verification, scheduling and accounting tools. They may only use the data to provide their service to us. Some providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, we rely on safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or object to it. Email hello@thesettingagency.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
